Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

that sucks. I got slammed a couple of months ago and managed to sail over onto the sidewalk, thereby avoiding getting run over by the red-light-running minivan that hit me. that must be some nasty ****, hope he heals fast and is doing OK in the meantime.

Sorry about your buddy. Don't feel bad about what you said. It's just a random coincidence. It must have been a crazy weekend for riding. A friend of a friend here in Boston got hit and cracked his head open. He's in the ICU.

I had a run in today when a car neglected to fully stop at a red light, turned right ignoring the "no turn on red" sign, then crossed two lanes of traffic into my lane almost killing me. I gave him the finger for a good long time. I know I shouldn't do that. This bozo yells out his window, "I said I was sorry. Don't give me the finger." I yelled, "You almost killed me! I'm giving you two fingers." I did a skillful Fabian-style double birdie. While speeding away he replied, "**** you!" At the next light he floored it through a yellow light in the "go straight only" lane and turned right without a signal cutting off the car in the "right turn" lane. How do some people get a license?

yeah, that's the kind of **** I saw all weekend, save for the almost-getting-killed part. I lucked out there.
