Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bright red rims

I just picked up a nice set of hi flange Campy 36 hole hubs for my new project track bike.

Does anyone know where I can find bright red rims? I'm thinking powdercoat bright red like a fire engine.

Thanks

Can one actually order rims from Velocityusa.com?
I didn't think you could.
In which case, call Yojimbo's Garage in Chicago, they have the best stock of colored Deep Vs I know.

I guess it's possible he only wants to look at pictures of them.
And just hold his new campy hubs up against said picture.
For some people, that's enough.

actually you can get red in anodized or powdercoated, or at least you used to. hence my machined electric red anodized rims

they're actually a deeper red than the powdercoated.

I think any colored non-machined rim, either anondized or powdercoated, will be destroyed by brake pads.
Powdercoating might take a little longer to wear off, however.

oh well if it is machined then I'm postive that it will be destroyed. But machined colored rims do exist.

Huh?
Colored velocity rims come in both machined (with the bare braking surface) and non-machined.

try superspokes.com. it's a pain in the ass to navigate, but they sell velocity rims all the way at the bottom right of the velocity page.
