Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I feel chuffed.

Like, I'm chuffed that I got free dinner?

I'm rarely pleased, proud or satisfied, so when I am I tend to enjoy it while it lasts.

Main Entry: chuffed
Pronunciation: 'ch&ft
Function: adjective
Etymology: English dialect chuff pleased, puffed with fat
British : PROUD, SATISFIED

It's from the Middle English word chuffe:i.e. pleasure or displeasure.

"Heebie-jeebie" seemed a little vague...

I mean the old Middle English definition, apparently.

Funny thing is, the word just came to me. That's just how I feel, I didn't realise that it described my feelings in any legitimate way. Now I feel even more wierd.

Soon the Avengers DVD will be on, and the first of many coping mechanisms will be activated. We'll see.

"i'm feeling really chuffed to be doing this"
"I'm feeling really chafed."

Aha! My 9 months in England have actually taught me something. It's definitely more of a proud or pleased feeling. I'm yet to hear it as annoyed. So I guess when I'm chuffed I just b*tch-slap salmonchild and do a little jig.

Yeah, I was definitely referencing the Olde Engish in me poll.

Wierd. I must of had a flash back to a past life as a punter in 1706.

Funny how words change meaning over time.

Oh, and thanks all -no longer chuffed or churled. Feelin' pretty chuffed about the whole night after all.
