This is similar to the end result of what my planet X build would be:

Planet X Stealth FGG

i've got a concept being powdercoated bright white. that solves the 'everyone has one' problem.

Search eBay for Tom Ritchey Pro stems (for stiffness) or WCS stems (for lightness). I would go with the Pro stems. You can get them cheap, and they come (old stock) in -17* or -6* angles (new stock).

If they are stiff enough for the pro peleton/elite track sprinters, they will be stiff enough for you.
it kinda sucks that deda makes their pista drops in 31.7 and not 31.8... i haven't heard anything if there's a real noticeable difference in using a 31.8 stem instead of a 31.7. i'll have to get a 31.7 and find out.

Broham, I hate to be the on to do this, but 31.7 and 31.8 mm are the same thing. 1.25 inches is the real measurement which: 1.25 inches = 31.75 millimeters. Some people round down some people round up.
