Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I don't even want to hear it [165]

My new bike...

Many have you have been involved in this build process, either by talking me into buying the frame, offering part advice or by just being patient with my excitment over the past couple weeks.

Well, my long awaited bottom bracket finally arrived today and I got her done.

Mid 90s Cannondale track frame.
Miche Primato Crankset and BB
Suzue Pro Max / Deep V wheels
17T Phil Wood cog
Nitto 021 bars / Nitto Pearl stem

I took her for her maiden ride just a bit ago and she's quick and nimble and just an effortless ride. I never understood until now the benefits of riding a light frame.
So, that's really it.
Sorry for the double post but I'm just excited.
Thanks for indulging me.

Yeah, it's insane.
If my wheel has even the slightest hop in it, I'm screwed.

Yeah, I like how cloth looks too and since I always wear gloves, I can get away with riding on it.

And it's only technically 3. And the Pake will probably be sold soon enough.
I'll let you know about the velo on Tuesday, gotta figure some work **** out first.

well, the front fork is steel and can be drilled *if needed* - otherwise, probably just a manufacturing decision. Change the rear wheel mounts, leave the bridge. One less thing to spend $$$ on as the manufacturer.

I doubt that cannondale's run of the mill road frames have even close to the same geometry of that track frame...the angles on that are, what, like 74/74? I know of no road frames with that geometry.

yeah - that is a good point i totally overlooked. I'll chalk it up to being in class right now.

perhaps the opposite is true then:
these bridges were already made and C-dale did not want to buy undrilled ones specifically for this frame.

The highlights are blown ... are the rims white or silver?

Cannondales I don't like but the full build I greatly appreciate. Nice work.

That bike will henceforth be named ; " Miami Vice". It's so rad, like in a totally 80's way.

You should only ride it wearing espadrilles and a 5:00 shadow...
