...and there's even a damn commuter rail if you don't want to ride up for the arsenal of democracy alleycat.
we're expecting you. who's going to show up? i know that there are going to be a handful of lycra-clad, suburb-dwelling roadies who are going to show up. oh, and they told me that they think that they're better than you. why don't you come up here and beat them?
looking forward to it...

That didn't format quite how I wanted.
Do you see what happens when you just copy and paste from the MTA Metro-North Website and don't preview your reply?
Lets try again.
Metro North Trains Between NYC and Bridgeport on June 3rd:
Grand Central --- to - Bridgeport
2:07PM --------------- 3:27PM
3:07PM --------------- 4:27PM
4:07PM --------------- 5:31PM
4:34PM --------------- 5:53PM
and then back to New York
Bridgeport ---- to ---- Grand Central
7:19PM --------------- 8:40PM
8:19PM --------------- 9:41PM
9:38PM --------------- 10:59PM
10:31PM ------------- 11:52PM
11:40PM ------------- 1:05AM
Please note - you will need a Metro-North Bike Pass (though the one time I took my bike on the train they didn't even check it). Just 5 bucks at Grand Central. You can get it the same day even. It may take you 10 minutes or so to find the right window and fill the thing out. And they have all these "rules."

prior to that, i said, "oh, no, i didn't know i needed a bike pass," and the conductor told me i should get one.
since getting one, i say i have it, and only once has a conductor asked to see it.
it's a lifetime pass. i'm sure that if you say you have one, rummage for it, and say, "oh, it's in my other bag, which is usually with my bike..." it will be fine.
they usually are only okay with 2 bikes per car, or something...
it was possible.
come on new yorkers, come race...

it is at least 60 miles to bridgeport from brooklyn. so I know I couldn't ride there, race 20 miles and ride back.
maybe one way? even that is a lot of miles in one day for me.
and queerpunk, will we need locks for this one?

you'll only need locks once you get to the finish line, since i assume you'll stick around for the party

Due to the rain, my scheduling conflict is no more. I will be there a bit after 5, with bells on, on my be-fendered bike (no need to get the nice one dirty). Rock the house.

is this still happening in the thunderstorm?
thunderstorms are scary.
my whole crew (new haven) seems to want to sit this one out because of the weather.
let's pray it gets a little milder.

oh, don't worry, it's not gonna thunderstorm. i mean, it says it's thunderstorming NOW, and it's not even raining, just wet. and weather reports are for chances of rain to taper off through the afternoon. so, is new haven coming?
oh, and VD, the comma was a typo.

by the way, meetup is at the large bandshell @ seaside park. www.frictionlessrecords.com/bridgeport.html for a rough map and more info, but the bandshell is tough to miss.

rain~
Alley Cat Racing in the rain is actually REALLY fun! Thanks to all who showed. I can live with the 3 way tie for first since we were all right there from the first checkpoint. Good times.
