Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

DT Swiss RR1.1 Rims

I am thinking of building up a new wheelset using DT rr1.1 road rims.

The rim depth is 21.2mm. Will I be able to use a regular presta vavle length on these rims. I have all my presta tubes at 36mm(?) which is regular and work for my aeroheads and open pro, but these rims are just a little deeper.
Any problems??
Also anyone running dt rims, how do you like them??

I just built a wheelset for my road bike using those rims. They built up pretty nice. I haven't taken them on a ride yet though. You can use a presta tube with a standard length valve but depending on your pump head you may have a little bit of a hard time getting air in. My Silca pump works fine.
