Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Pearl Izumi goes NJS

Complete throw-away garbage thread (just ask Juvi - this thread is the worst) but Pearl Izumi has a keirin sock, as in that's the name of it. Jump that shark!

are they NOS?

Those have been around for a year or two now. Comfy, and when they are on sale - well worth it!

That old huh? I just saw them in the Performance catalog. Are they thicker? I find most cycling socks to wear out pretty quick. I imagine you know, the whole "keirin" thing that they'd last a bit longer or something like that.

haha!
they are actually thinner than most other PI socks, which is nice. Aside from that, they are not anything special.

They have to be tested on a special sock stretcher machine before each race. there cannot be more than 20% deflection in the arch section with 7nm of force applied for them to pass tech. When they fail they are sold on ebay to the gaijin.

"quarter height for traditional look and performance."

i'm definitely thinking about performance when i consider the height of my socks.

Your first mistake was picking up a Performance catalog.

Your mistake was getting a helmet that fails impact standards.

I'd rather a company issue a voluntary recall based on one test than ignore it and leave non-Consumer Report's readers in the dark. It passed all of the relevant impact tests, the CR test not being one, hence it made it to production. Fortunately Trek doesn't sell through the internet, so the recall process was predictable and accountable.
