Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I've just gotta say that it f***in' KILLS me when folks take grinders or Sawzalls of pliers or whatever to beautiful old Italian frames. See that Cinelli SC "conversion" on SF CL awhile back. Grrrrrrrrr...
I'm glad it was just an old Peugeot frame. I'd save your money for a Spicer or something and get your welder buddy to make you a crazy tall bike outta this one.

My conversion is from a 20 year old Giant (made in Taiwan) frame. Aside from filing back the dropouts, I didn't touch it just in case I ever wanted to make it a geared bike again. I highly doubt I will, but you never know.
