Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Where buy new steel ss frame for 150$

Hello everyone, i'm looking to build a fixed/ss bike for commuting. Can anyone suggest an online store that sells a steel road frame for around 150$? I've looked at Surly's Steamroller, but it's too expensive for me. Any ideas?

Oh, sorry i didn't make it clear. I would really like the frame to be unused. I was thinking of places like chucksbikes.com etc.

that's about as cheap as you're gonna get on a brand new frame. and that price is without a fork, don't forget. It's supposed to be a pretty good frame, i think.

I second the vote for CL/ebay.

if you want to save money you get a much better value out of 150 bucks of used frame than in an unused frame of the same price.

$265 for a frame + fork, shipped. That's $10 cheaper than an IRO with shipping.

The reserve on the eBay auction is likely higher than $150. The NY Craigslist posting says, "I am asking 250 for the track frames. The carbon forks are 150 and the steel forks are 80. I will cut you a deal if you buy a frame with a fork (or multiple frames/forks) ".

hello everyone. does anyone know where i could get a titanium track frame for about 40 boners and a pile of dandruff? i'd prefer it to be brand new with real gold leaf lettering and i would also prefer it to have a stripper with one arm jump out of it and slap the crap out of me in a non sexual way. anyone?

unless you have a bulk of the parts you need, i would also say look for a used entry level track bike -- ie bianchi pista, khs, langster etc -- there will only be more and more of them around as just about every major manufacture has a off the peg "track/ss/urban/messenger" bike.

150$ wont get you too much new. could get a decent (not complete beater) conversion used depending where you are for a bit more.
