Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

somebody probably took that gold bike to a pawn shop and sold it for cheap, then the pawn shop guy had it melted into bars, then sold it to somebody else and cleared a couple hundred bucks.

I'm a bit late on this...but Ultraman is a bad MoFo. I'll take Ultraman over anything DC produced, anyday.

DC went wrong by giving the heros personalities. Ultraman just kicked azz.

The bike that wouldn't die.

Or,

The bike that died a thousand deaths.

I thought that was Mazinga. Growing up there was this line of toys called "SHOGUN WARRIORS" that were, like, 2ft tall Japanese robots. I had that one, and it was called Mazinga. I also had Raydeen, and then Godzilla when they came out with it.

it is Mazinger. it was renamed Tranzor Z when it was shown on american tv in the late 70's/early 80's.

Wait-wait-wait. Why do you hate gold bikes? If everyone gets to *****, they should atleast give an explanation.

Au contratre. In the Woody Itson "gold hutch trickstar" interview on the Joe Kid on a Stingray DVD, he says the guy who stole it, returned it about a year later at another demo, minus the wheels. The bike was later traded, in return for some work on Woody's truck. The bike lives in the "guy who fixed woody's truck's" attic. They are good friends, and Woody was actually giving "freestyle lessons" to the guy's son for years and the guy was going to fix Woody's truck for nothing, but Woody felt bad, so he traded the bike for the work. What a stand-up guy, no?
