Hub / wheelset suggestions

I will be converting to SS soon and need info on good hubs for a good price (paul, phils and etc. are a bit to pricy).

Any wheelset suggestions for commuting would be appreciated too.

thanks!

Mixed reviews? Really?
I've only heard/experienced good things about them.

The IRO Wheelset is pretty decent. IRO hubs are just rebadged Formulas.
There is some link on here that sells Formula/Mavic wheelset for like $125, which is also a very nice deal.
Humancongrareel should know that website off hand.

Why do you need new wheels? Do you not have any? Whatever you have will work since you're going SS.

the formula hubs are nowhere as sexy as the more expensive options, but they are totally solid hubs. fantastic bang for the buck

The cheapest IRO wheelset is 169$ wich is still a good deal (w/flip flop).

yeah, no need to go buy a track wheelset for ss. unscrew your freewheel or take off your cassette and replace it with a single cog one.

I'm hesitant to mention this (I want one, but have no $), but the Nashbar/Dimension hub is on sale for $25 at Nashbar:

I got a set of these but haven't built them up yet. They feel pretty durn smooth. It looks like it's that time of the year to close these guys out again. I'm going to use these for my everyday/rainy day wheels.
