Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

"...best suited for someone who rides 60cm bike, probably someone in the 5'9" to 6'1" range."

5'9" with a freakishly long legs, long arms, and a short torso.

that sounds about right acutally, I'm 6'2" and am best suited for a 23 1/2" frame. That said, usually when people buy track frames they actually worry more about standover than seat tube length, and end up getting a bike frame a couple cm smaller than they would/should.

...but I'd guess the number of twenty-something fixed-gear riders that cares about geometry over aesthetic is really small.

I'm 6'3, and I ride a 60cm most of the time. I have some a size smaller, (size and a half, even), and some a size bigger, but I consider 60cm my size. Any 5'9 person who could ride my bikes would have their belly button tucked just below their nipples.....
