Hawaii Riders unite!

I just moved to Honolulu, and don't know a soul. I was in the process of building a fixie before I left the mainland, and could use some help sourcing parts here on the island. Also, someone to go riding with would be cool...

Jake,
I just moved from there. I worked at The Bike Shop which has some cool folks there. Talk to david or Glenn and make sure you mention that Dan told you to look them up. If you end up in Kailua definitley talk to colin, the manager of the bike shop there. He rocks the fixie.
There's a bike co-op in kalihi run by one of the coolest dudes ever, his name is Chris and he plans all the alleycats and fixie get togethers (especially since I'm gone).
There are now 2 messenger companies. One is calld cross town couriers and the other i don't know. Crosstown has a few fixie riders, but the owner has a way of not paying his workers. That would bring us to the other company. one of their riders is this awesome girl named Rice. She is the effin JAM. Tell her dan says hi if you get to meet here. Send me a PM if you need more info.
Word up, rep that hardcore life for me down there. I am planing on now living vicariously through you since I think you are possibly the only other Fixie rider on here from HA.

UPDATE

As of March 1, 2008 Fly Right Messenger Service has merged with Crosstown Couriers. So, Fly Right no longer exists.

The former owner of Crosstown - the one who had a habit of not paying his riders - has left Hawaii and we hope the move is permanent. The company is now owned by a guy named Kendall. Rice, Jason and a few former Fly Right people also went over to Crosstown. The former owner was getting sued by former employees who wanted the backpay that he owed them and some companies were coming after him for past-due bills.

According to reports, all current Crosstown riders are happy with the merger.

Some of the riders went over to Legal Express Messenger Service, which handles deliveries for legal firms.

Both companies remain on good terms with each other.
