seller has good feedback and has been a member since 02.. the auction looks legit enough to me, the only thing i would worry about is sending a mo to the netherlands but if you get past that i think it should be ok. as far as the bike goes, i dont know though

I don't think it is a scam. The fork looks correct, and the seller seems to be trustworthy. I would be a bit nervous sending wire transfer overseas, sure...but the guy who won this probably got a great deal.

i didn't win. I was ready to throwdown, and i'm sure everything would have been fine with payment, but still, when i'm droppin paper like that, i'd rather be 100% confident

to the bank they looked at me like i was backwards. almost everything
is done via bank transfer. i haven't checked into it, but i'm sure there
is some type of system in which one can protect themselves against
swindlers.

That looks to be the original fork, for that period they were not stamped with the logo. Here is my bike of roughly the same year with the original fork (you can see the crown in the 2nd picture):

The frame is a bit bigger but this one is in the States and the seller takes Paypal -- the auction is ending today:

I'm sure it won't be nearly as cheap as the first one, though.

That eddy merckx frame ended up around 1,200 before the seller closed the auction. This eddy merckx frame should be a nice replacement for the Serotta / KHS I just sold.
