Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

NYC! need a girl's bike for halloween weekend, will trade stuff!

Hey NYC,

I'm coming down for the Halloween alleycat in two weeks. My lady-friend is coming with me, but we can't really justify bringing her hoopty and ridiculously heavy 3-speed on the bus. If anyone out there can lend a bike for saturday and sunday Oct 28-29, we'd really appreciate it. She's 5'3"-ish, and looking for a non-fixed ride - a 3-speed, coaster, or budget road or mtn bike. Something that works, and can make it up and over the bridges (but the bike will NOT be raced).

We have burly kryptonite locks, and as an ex-messer and mechanic I can assure you, it will be well taken care of and not stolen.

Stuff I can trade for this favour, take your pick of what you'd like:

Silva 2-ply laminated track toe-straps with buttons - red NOS

Suntour Sprint Front Track hub 32h-used

EAI Campy compatible lock ring- used

Sugino Mighty Competition 50T 1/8 pitch 144bcd ring-used

Sugino Mighty Competition 165mm left crankarm- square taper, 9/16 thread -used

Wipperman track chain 1/8 - new in box

With love from Montreal-
