Finding a buckle for custom bag
OK, so I'm about to start my second (and third) custom bag(s) and the cheap plastic buckles I found to use on my first bag have proven to be really ****ty... anyone know where I can find some good, perferrably metal, buckles of some sort. ideally I would use a seat belt buckle, like a chrome bag, but I can't find any... I'm in the boston area and there are any car salavage or junk yards I know of... Maybe someone knows of something strong and durable I can get in the boston area or from a hardware store?

Check places that specialize in restoring old cars. year one and NPD come to mind. They should sell seat belts in various colors with the straps already installed. They might be a little more expensive, but you know they won't break.

It'll be cool if you used a pair of hand cuffs as part of the latching mechanism for a buckle.

i dont know how you could do that without it being SUPER uncomfortable.
and to the OP, making a sling style bag is real way easier than it looks

Here's a slightly harder one. Anyone know where to dig up the sort of buckle you find on your seatbelt on an airplane?

Moot point since the OP has found one.. but I'd be hitting the euro junk yards for an old school AUDI buckle, with the orange button and bling logo.
