I am not. I am just going to save it for a nice schwinn, after I finish it. That wheel on a conversion makes me look like a hipster. Oh well.

Just build as you go, and ignore the side comments. We all have to start somewhere, and you are doing a great job so far.

Remember, these same people were lusting after your wheel until they saw you actually using it! Ha!

Just ride it...it's not that serious. I remember when bikes were for fun. Have lots of fun, dude.

I dont mind the disk on the conversion, it looks a little ugly, but at 10 dollars, who cares.

Screw the naysayers.

I say there should be more hoopty-ass conversions with disc wheels.

If you like it, use it, if you don't, sell it.

When I get this wheel going, I can either save it for when I start track racing, or ride it VERY carefully on the street.

One more question. The bike that it was on had a rear brake. Can I use a brake on this wheel?
Yes you can use a brake but make sure you use carbon compound pads or cork(?). Don't ride it on the street unless you wear a full skin suit and aero helmet maybe carry a light saber too...

no, and i for one wasn't being snide. the wheel is heavier and more impractical (both due to crosswinds and because it's tubular) than the wheel he had on the bike before, so there is no good reason to run it. the only rationale over-riding that would be if it looked hot, and it doesn't. hence my comment that he musn't run the wheel on that bike.

Acually the wheel is a bit lighter [ Steel<Composite ] But I see your point, and will stay with spokes for now.

Throw one of these and some aero bars on that Peugeot and you have the best bike ever.

Ever.
