Such thing as a Chain being to Tight?

i may have a problem if there is, my chain is so tight that i cant move my wheel a mm and is hesitant to go around while pedaling. how can i take it off?

Jeez, I've had mine tight enough so there's less than a couple millimeters of play, but I could still ride without a problem.

Did you secure the rear wheel in a vice while tightening, by chance?

They weren't tight when i put the chain on.......the wheel was slammed

naw no vice, i put the wheel on and pushed it to the front and then put the chain on....i wanted to be tight
but this thing it TIGHT!!

exactly what im afraid of...i can't find my old one,gonna have to go to the store tomorrow and purchase one, ill put on a paint ball mask a strap phone books to my chest

no where near the tension to cause the chain to whip you. just pull your wheel off and re adjust it. But be sure and check your hub adjustment when you do.

lol.. how in the world did you get your chain so tight the wheel wont move!? LOL!

Anyway, just take it off and readjust... and lay off the steroids before tightening.
