How do you feel about the cog / lockring combo that came with your windsor? Are they that horrible, could i replace the cog and keep the lockring?

Also, any thoughts about the bike (especially the wheels) are welcome! (from owners)

There's been a thread on this already this week. The cog and lockring should both be replaced, is what it claims.

Jalco rims laced to formula hubs. I like the formulas better than the suzue promax i got. They are still smooth, also i never had to true those rims when i was riding them. I dont know... i like the bike and for 300 dollars it CANT be beat. It is basically the same as the fuji track. but a better coat of paint and better cranks.

Replace the cog and lockring. The lockring is SUPER soft and strips easily. I'd replace the cog just to be safe since it is only partially threaded. Don't want to strip your hub.

In Absentia

After a good truing and tensioning, the wheels are very solid, since they're Formula hubs and butted spokes. The cog and lockring, however, should be replaced immediately. Like Hockeyteeth said, the lockring strips and even breaks very easily and the cog probably isn't much better. When my LBS mechanic took the lockring off, it cracked and a piece broke off (it was the service manager at a shop that services a lot of fixed gears, so it wasn't his fault).
