Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

yep - rode 30 miles and now i'm relaxing with bailey's irish cream. this morning there was virtually no traffic, so i was riding down the middle of streets without a care in the world.

'Bout to walk out the door and ride through the Mission for a bit before it starts to rain.

Happy Festivus!

Some people at my work were putting up a festivus pole, so I went over and asked when they were going to air their grievances with each other. I got a confused look. I'm not a huge seinfeld fan, but I mean, if your going to put up a festivus pole, at least know a little bit about it.

Happy belated winter solstice.

no riding today, have family coming over. May change later.

It's raining really hard in WV, too.

Plus I've got stuff going on. Tomorrow morning though, I'm planning on going to the gym, coming back and hopping on my new CycleOps trainer and watching BBC America for an hour or so, then hopping in the jacuzzi.

Oh, home...with the hot tub and cable and free food.

Not riding a bike, but a 737 up to PDX to spend the rest of Xmas week with the wife's family. In-law jokes aside, sometimes it's good to be the husband of the niece and dad of the great niece/nephew.

Ditto that, man. Thunder, lightning; at least it isn't snow. I just installed my new roof rack in the rain. The Fetish is getting a much needed rain-bath at the moment.

You got a rack?

Nice. I have to see this.

Now I can wreck your car on trips instead of Todd's Danish leather.

Get to ride tomorrow. IT hurt not to ride, it was in the 60's and sunny. We Did walk the beach after dinner. Saw very few cyclists out in spite of the awesome weather. Some time doing one's honey do's is the right thing to do and felt good to see my wife try on her new duds and matching heart crystal necklace.
