pitlock - swapping solid axles for hollow

Is it possible to swap out the solid axle of a track hub (specifically DA low flange) for a hollow QR axle so that I can use a pitlock? I guess the diameter and threading will have to be the same for both axles in order for the cones to fit.

Anyone know? If this is possible, can my LBS just order an axle for me or do I have to scrounge?

Yes, it is. You should be able to order the axles easily. I swapped the track axle on a C Record low flange hub for a QR axle, same cones/locknuts.

Yeah, but I want to pitlock the front wheel, not the rear (which will get u-locked). Pitlock seems to have only 10mm axles, not 9mm. They're for sachs hubs, I think.

Pitlock makes a lock 15mm nut. Click on 'solid axles' on the menu at the left of the screen.
