Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

i'm about to pull the triger...someone save me!

so i've been dying to purchace a HED3 carbon front wheel, though i dont feel like dropping $500-$700 on one... so ive been reasearching the aerospokes and the only flaw i see in them is the fact that they weigh 3 pounds, ive searched the forum and only found a few kids who said they have them but i want to know if it's worth it.

im on the aerospoke page, about to purchace it, give me testimonials please and thank you

Trendy, and if you want to follow a less expensive trend, go to Starbucks, buy a Mocha Latte, and get diarrhea.

Send me 20% of the money I just saved you.

yes, I wasted money on a Starbucks Mocha Latte. I thought that was pretty evident from my post.

I cannot fathom wasting 500-700 dollars on a wheel. If you are jut using it to ride around town on, hell - buy me one too. I'll sell it and get groceries for three months.

I just saw a 650 Spinergy go for $200-something a few
weeks ago, and a little vignette ran in my head. In it,
some hipster clown doing a bar spin, coming down and
landing on his face as his wheel splits into a million
pieces.

back to the topic @ hand... a friend of a friend had a carbon fiber fork snap on her out in b.f.e. on a paved path and had to be medevaced outta there- my fears of the fiber/epoxy combo were confirmed and i knew it was too good to be true- i swore off the carbon then and there- i see the benefits but i just dont trust it- i just dont trust cloth and glue i cant not yet maybe never- i dunno "steel is real" comes to mind as does its riddle. dont get me wrong now non-metal products have their place and i just dont believe that they can handle the everyday abuses and long term damage of riding in the city but thats right now and if i hear sumtin diff than what been been shown than il change sh1t up mad quick like- my dad sez: you can wish in one hand and sh1t in the other and see which one fills up quicker- i apply the aforementioned to expectations and performance of carbon fiber products.

I'll stick to aluminum. My friend has a Spinergy front wheel and it freaks me out. I just looks like it will break.

You're just saving up for your custom-drilled 96 spoke radial Phil Wood "Daytons" on gold rims.

With whitewalls. Yeah, you.

Hell, my DA/OP wheelset weighs maybe 1.5x that front wheel, is pretty trendy, and costs only slightly more...
