Want to shout out Dexter, profiled this past week by AM NY.

This guy has passed me at speed on madison ave. Always great to see him!!

yea. when I first saw a clip on him on youtube I was blown away. This guy has gone through so much but always has a positive outlook on his life and life in general. Makes the problems I deal with seem like nothing.
Kudos for the message he sends out without knowing he's doing it.

wow, he doesnt have much of an option other than to go fixed. he needs left side drive, and he needs the pedal to come back up on its own on the upstroke since there is no other leg to push it up. works out perfectly.

edit: I guess he doesnt NEED LSD, but he shaves the weight of a NDS crankarm this way.

He was in Bicycling magazine years ago.

Some stupid thief stole his bike.Then saw him and noticed he needed left side drive and tried to sell it back to him ! Now that's a stupid bike thief.

I was moving up madison between 30th and 34th. you have to pick up some speed by 34th because there is a hill (or what passes for one in manhattan anyhow). I was doing an easy 15mph with swift moving traffic and Dexter passed me on the left with ease. We usually wave and say Yo! but you can tell when the man is on a mission.

I saw that interview going down right by my place (9th and 36th) thats where they took the picture. His leg is massive.

Yeah, I saw a clip of Dexter a while back and sent it to just about everyone I know...seeing him ride reminds me how lazy I am and how I'm prone to making excuses or just giving up.

It reminds me of the old addage; Circumstances don't make the man, they reveal him.
