mx helmet on the road
yes ya heard it my thick skull has taken one too many hard knocks so it will now be covered in reinforced fiberglass
because I can't stand those cheesy foam and milar will this really protect my brain roady stuffs sorry kids but I had to say it
helmets may not be neccesary but having fat lips and knots on your head kinda get tired

If so I would say no. Way too heavy and too hot. Tried one a few times when I was more in too BMX. If you want full face why not try a down hill mtb helmet. Lighter and better venalation.
Like this listed as a downhill / kite boarding helmet. Still I think it would be hot but if thats what you want/ need to feel comfortable why not.

I concur. A DH helmet will offer the same margin of protection without being overbuilt to withstand 60mph wipeouts. If you do go 60 though, then I'd get the MX helmet.

nah I mean a bmx helmet this is a bike forum and I am well aware of the weight of those things yikes....

yeah, ive ridden with one. its not that bad at all, once you get used to the extra weight. i cant stand those fugly roadie helmets either. to me it was just like "ok so i have to wear a helmet, and i dont want to look like the vilage idiot."

I've ridden with a Bellistic for a while on the street. It gets hot during the summer, but that's the only real complaint.

It seems most of the messengers here wear Protec style helmets. The companies require they wear a helmet usually. Ive considered one for my commute thru the war zone.
