    Raleigh Technium shifter bosses

Does anybody know how the downtube shifter bosses on a Technium 460 are attached?

I'm considering repainting or just stripping and polishing the aluminum and if I do that I'd like to remove the bosses. I know I could just strip the paint and look, but if they won't come off cleanly I think I'd rather leave it the way it is.

the only way to get rid of those bosses is to grind them down. i suggest doing that too, the insides of your knees don't really like meeting those things.

This isn't me, nor did I do this good of a job on my bike, but you'll get the idea

I'm too lazy to find it, but somebody post the picture of the guy with the action figure arms screwed into the shifter bosses on his frame. I forget who it is, some regular on here.

That's an even better idea than grinding them off. I could put muscle arms on the bike, paint it green and call it Trogdor.
