brake advice
i need some advice.. i have been doing more and more commuting on my bike and am looking for a decent front brake setup. i bought a bmx setup thinking i could make the lever work but the lever is extremmly poorly construced as well as its the wrong clamp diamiter for my bars (standard road bar diamiter).so i was looking around and someone on ebay sells the bartop levers but its like 50$$, a little more than im looking to spend.im wondering if anyone has a source for a good quality affordable bartop lever.does anyone know if a mtb lever will work? what about the inline bartop lever nashbar sells? would that work asa stand alone? i do not want a road lever with a hood. any advice would be rad.

nashbar which is basically a tektro 2.1 or something like that.. $15. Looks exactly like the salsa shown above.

$13 a pair, exact same thing as the salsa except not drilled. Cane creek, tektro, nashbar, and others all sell the exact same thing, as in like out of the same molds.

They totally work fine on their own. You don't have to run them as cross.

yeah, they come with a little rubber gromet in the hole where the cable runs through if you use them as an interrupt, you just pop that out and put a regular brake cable in there.

The best answer is bat chutes. They not only bring you to a stop, but they apparently allow you to perform a 180 turn once you've come to a complete stop.

I kindof wish they were in the actual shape of a bat. Just silkscreening a bat on something is kind of a lame way of making a bat thing.
