Fixed in Copenhagen/Denmark?
I just moved to Denmark for the next six months and have been looking to get a bike for the meantime... However, I am having zero luck finding anything used for an at all reasonable price. I know it must be just going to the wrong places - saying that the streets are littered with bikes is a complete understatement, there are hundreds of unlocked bikes just sitting along every single street block, so I just need to know how to legally acquire one myself!
I was wondering if anyone had any experience getting a bike in Copenhagen or where to look, and ideally getting a fixie here would be great with the incredible flatness of everything... but it is looking, so far, like it'd be impossible to get the parts around here. i´ve seen a couple of people riding fixies around the streets but they are always ripping around so quickly i can´t flag them down to ask...
I've asked around the hostel and other bike shops but they don't like to push the used thing...

I rarely see fixed/single-speeds for sale, but there are tons of 'city-bikes' and such cheap.
Try:
www.guloggratis.dk
www.denblaaavis.dk, or the paper version Den Blå Avis
Also, try to find out where the nearest local police auction is. There, they will auction off unclaimed stolen and abandoned bikes. (not sure if https://www.topauktioner.dk/ is near you, but their next bike auction is tomorrow!). I know tons of people who get decent bikes this way, so it's worth it to try and find one (or two and make one decent bike). roadbikeshop.dk is a decent bike shop for high-end bikes, including single-speeds for ca. 5-6000DKK, otherwise you can get city bikes anywhere. You can also put a wanted ad on feltet.dk.
Don't know about your Danish, so keywords for searching: cykel, auktion, københavn (best to spell it correctly). Gear is just 'gear'. Single gear would be 'enkelt gear' (hmmm...I think). For sale is 'til salg'. Used is 'brugt'. So try a search for "brugt enkelt gear cykel til salg" or some combination thereof. (Use google.dk and click on "sider fra Danmark".
Good luck. Let me know how it works out. Especially if you go to the auktion.

You can also see : www.fixie-king.dk
Its in danish, but if you go to the forum, you can use your own language as well..
Look under "Køb og salg" (Buy and sell)
I have Nashbar rear hubs for sale.. Ahem..

Hi, sorry about the delayed response, took a while to get all setup with internet and so on here! my danish is pretty nonexistent right now but i have some friends that could help me. I'm thinking that going fixed here would be a lot more costly than back in north america.
Thanks a ton for the tips, now that things like an apartment and so on are settled, time to find a bike! all i've been able to find are beefy city bikes, almost impossible to find a road frame... especially used! I'll have a look at the sites though, and there's a police auction coming up soon I guess! I'll also keep my eyes peeled on the Blå Avis.
will post what i figure out, if i do. (i think i might need to try for a suicide hub... but that kind of freaks me out)
