What's up with deep drop stems?

Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Something custom made to fit the anachronistic(but justified) hour record regulations. It could also be a helmet from some other sport.

They should turn this guy into some kind of superhero half way in between the Flash and Juggernaut. He pedals up to ridiculous speed and then headbutts through brick walls and automobiles.

I like deep drops and I cannot lie
All you other brothers can't deny
When a dude rolls by in his CroMo Nitto drops
And his quill stem in his face
He'll get doored!
