3rensho ebay fraud?

After searching the forums, I couldn't find a good place to post this; thus the new thread. My apologies if this is old news or out of place.

Check out:

https://cgi.ebay.com/3Rensho-SR-Expor...QQcmdZViewItem

look familiar to anyone? This bike was auctioned off in a high profile bid (over 3000 USD) maybe a month ago. It seems clear to me that the listing above is a fraud; 650 GDP "buy it now" for this bike with the D/A 10 group is a joke, given the current market, and in any case the auction has no buy it now option, so any such transaction would be unprotected via ebay/ paypal.
Also note the auction ends in 24hrs. Clever.
I want to report the user, but for the life of me can't find the older, original, listing for that 3rensho. Does anyone remember it? Help me shut down this ridiculous scam before someone gets burned.

When they demand that you to contact them before you bid and offer a BIN price that is not a part of the auction, it is a scam.

Yeah, and if you look at other high end bikes in this seller's store, it's the same thing: copied listings, 650 GDP, 24 hrs. How the hell did they get such strong feedback? What is going on?

This is becoming increasingly and disturbingly common. I hate eBay more and more each day.

If people would use their brains and not take the bait
on every half-baked phishing attempt on the internet,
this kind of thing would dry up in no time.

I just reported the account as stolen to ebay; hopefully their action will be swift and merciless. I hate this crap so much.

It is not an individual (unless that kid has buyer's regret about a huge list of high end bikes and hobby horses).

Hrm, this auction is interesting because no one has fallen for it. Are people getting smarter? Couldn't be.

How do you know? Twenty people could have already sent him money outside auction - as he's requesting?

Hopefully everyone who looked at it also reported it to ebay. I'm guessing not, so I did it myself.

if you look at the other items they have for sale, the ones with bids have the ID kept private...no way to let them know.

I just meant report it to ebay.

They should pull the auction shortly. Unfortunately, these people use really short auction times to create a sense of urgency in their marks and get them to act before the auction gets pulled. The sooner it's reported the better though.

[edit] I'm a little annoyed by how difficult it is to actually report fraud on ebay. It's a huge maze. I run across a lot of them because of a few daily searches I have emailed to me so I've memorized the clicks by now.
