Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

new song about bike riding!

go here and listen to track 07 Meet Me At Olgas. It's my friend's band Arms of Orion and they just leaked their album (coming out on Abacus god knows when.)

a number of the guys in the band love riding, and the singer is a messenger when he's not on tour.

i like the song, but i know many of you may not be partial to the pop rock persuasion. but give it a listen!

I've always had a problem understanding lyrics. Is this song about riding bikes or is it just that they guys in the band ride?

well. in the song he says "this is a tribute to all those kids, ride or die" or something like that, and there are some shoutouts in there to specific people. and olgas is where they all go to lunch or something. so. i dunno. i just thought some people on this board would get a kick out of it.

I think I'd need to see the lyrics in text form to know that song was about bikes.

Nice, another mutated pop punk emo band. They sing about bikes to boot.

Let me go grab my sweet 16 girlfriend and we can share our earbuds from my iPod and listen to this song. Hopefully my sideswept black hair won't impede my vision as she sits on my handlebars on our way to the local venue to catch Taking Back Sunday. The we'll talk about doing coke and hold hands.

I know you're being sarcastic, but that sounds really cute anyway.

Ah, to be 16 again.

hahahahaha. i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks so. my bestfriend will ride me to the neighborhood video store and deli on his bmx bike (i stand on the pegs on the back and hold onto his shoulders) and i always feel like i'm in 5th grade again. even if it weren't as fun as it is, the looks we get from people we pass in cars is definitely worth it. i guess seeing two twenty somethings on a bmx bike is kinda strange. but i dig it
