Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Soma Rush Tire Clearance

How big of tires have people gotten to fit on their Rushes? I need to figure out whether I'm going to get 32s or if I can't go higher than 28. Pics appreciated!

I don't know the specific answer to your question. But you should keep in mind that you'll be able to run a bigger tire in the back if you make your chain long enough to run the axle as far back as the frame will allow you to.

I was able to put 27"x1 1/8" tires on my Bareknuckle, front and back. Thats about equivalent to a 700c x 30 tire. The Rush is probably not any tighter than the Bareknuckle.

I have 23s on mine and it seems pretty tight, I can't imagine fitting 32s in there.

There might be some photos on my flickr that you can see it, but if you don't have a good answer by the end of today I'll take some when I get home.

I've got plenty of room on mine, especially if I add a few links to the chain. the question is how much. if it matters (which I don't think it does), I have the 631 frame with the tange fork.

tire size

so 700c x 23 is smaller than 700 x 25 ! does this means its wider or taller tire??

I've run 700x28 Randonneurs in there no problem. I think they measure closer to 26 though. A true 700x28 is probably the max with a brake but you might be able to go bigger brakeless.

Both, because the tire's cross section is round.
