Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? MONSTERTRACK 7 Video

As if there wasn't enough excitement, hype, and internet media attention surrounding the world's premiere track only alley cat, here's some more....

SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION

As well as a bunch of other new rants, photos, interviews, and other self serving egotistical bike messenger crap. Enjoy!

Is it me or does someone always get hit within the first 5 minutes of a race?

s_9 hitting the bus was a lot funnier in real-time. That slow-mo **** in the new video just looked odd.

What's a cab doing that far up north? They don't like going up there. Must be sabotage. Just like that bus that jumped in front of s_9.

That's so true, that rider totally had the right of way and somehow the side of the cab ran into the rider, how did I miss that? Just the other day I got struck by a parked car, I'm suing now.

Looks good Michael. Sorry I won't be there to throw my chain
in heavy traffic and get completely lost this year.

For me the weirdest part of the race wasn't seeing more taco'd
wheels than in any other alley cat I've been in, but it was seeing
2 Kryptonite/NYC type chains in the middle of the street in midtown.
The chains were just undone lying there..... The pack that I was
in just shrugged and said "WTF?" I still don't understand how that
happened. A) Why would you ride a race with an extra 10 lbs
instead of a u-lock? B) How did it get unlocked and into the middle
of the road?

A) Some folks don't have a U-lock. I don't have one that I'd trust in NYC. <shrug>
B) A lot of folks don't lock them around their waist, they just hook the lock through it and let the open lock dangle. It works most of the time.

That would be pretty weird though, especially since those chains are like $50 a piece by themselves. Seems like kind of a waste unless you're going to win.

it's mostly the compression that did it. if you look at the other videos, they're not nearly as bad. when the DVD comes out, all that sh*t will be super high quality. don't have to worry about bandwidth...

I think that was to throw off riders behind them... If you looked carefully, there's barbed wire wrapped around those chains.
