first post - random pics

hello - I've registered here 6 months ago but completely forgot to even check the forum. Been on the other fixed gear forum in fact.

so here are a few random pics - just to start with something...

See, I have this thing about random people posting random pics of me on random websites...

:p

Man I was just in London and didn't see any track bike riders. I was staying over by the Marble Arch, but went all over the city.

I also got a tip that a lot of riders get together at the Duke of York. I went in and drank some, but didn't see any bicycles.

Where did I go wrong? :)

Anyway... sweet bikes! The Raleigh and Mercian are beautiful!

Great collection your crew has there. Nice photos to boot.

The baby blue Mercian is really all that matters.

???
I see about 1O track bikes per half-hour in central London, and it's still cold and raining here..
Dunno where you went. The main east-west axis (Old Street-Clerkenwell road-Oxford street) is where you'll see the most bikes, esp. during rush hour.
There are many Duke of York pubs, the one in question is on Clerkenwell road, and people only meet there on thursday and friday nights.
next time give us a shout - and bring your bike..

one more shot from that skatepark session: hip jump between two no-handed trackstands (note: "hip" in that use isn't short for hipster)

Oh ****. I see. I believe I went down Oxford street. Is it really busy with shoppers and have like a 6 story department store on it?

Damn... wish I could of kept a better eye out.

I'll be back again. I'll def. give shout as well. Last time I could only get my skateboard out there, but next time I will bring one of my bikes for sure.

Thanks for the info!

Skateparks are so much fun on a bike. And a skateboard. Those bikes look awesome, and it looks like you guys had a good time.

PS- Nice skateboard Dosh! ;)

kmart 02-17-07 08:22 PM

I like how the riders are transparent in the first 2 pics.

deathhare 02-17-07 09:14 PM

Nice pix/bykes!

Oh you know it.

I'm totally getting back into my groove. Landed my first 360 flip yesterday since 2003.

Me too. How do you get that effect with a camera?

headlessspider 02-17-07 09:44 PM

longer exposure time? my guess would be a second or there abouts.

popluhv 02-17-07 09:48 PM

Leave the shutter open, then pop a flash when you want to 'freeze' the action.

jpearl 02-17-07 10:06 PM

Somewhere, someplace, a track-racing purist is cringing...
