Quill to threadless stem picture request.
I have searched the forums and found some really helpful info on the quill to threadless adapter. I need a considerably short stem for a bullhorn setup and realized my only options are to cut a technomic, or run an adapter for a stubby threadless stem.
Does anyone mind posting a picture of their rig with a quill to threadless setup?
Also if anyone has any ideas where to get a short threaded stem that does not have a positive rise, it'd be much appreciated.

That's not the most flattering example you could have chosen that's for sure.
They look a lot less ridiculous when they're not used to adapt pursuit bikes to a 'normal' position.

a threaded-threadless adapted set-up looks pretty much like a threaded set-up. the parts that make it different are barely visible. it's just basically a quill with no stem, just a 1" or 1 1/8" tube that sits above the headset to which a regular threadless stem is clamped

here's one of mine..as somebody else said, you really can't even tell unless you look very closely under the stem and see the threaded headset nut.

Threadless adapters only look decent if you a) run the threadless stem directly against the headset nut or b) stick some spacers between the bottom of the threadless stem and the top headset nut (as in El Twe's pic above). Otherwise, you get this weird small-diameter section poking up that makes the threadless stem look really goofy:
