well i never saw it hit a car before it was stolen so i cant really say if the strength changed at all

Wrong. I've had he dubious pleasure of chopping the top tube out of a crashed keirin bike. I don't know what kind of tubes they use over there, but the sh*t was thinner than my thumbnail. No joke.
My Rossin (alu) is way burlier than that. I haven't cut it up, but I can tell you it just is. Argue all you want, but you're still a dingus.
