Would This make a decent SS?
I have a old specialized Rock Hopper frame/fork (I know it's a mtn frame) but I held it up to my modern road bike and the geometry was almost identical, so I was wondering if anyone has made a fixie/SS out of this frame or similar.
The one thing is It has canteliver brake posts, would I be able to use V brakes on a 700c wheel? and would a 700c wheel even fit? Although I probably will just run a front brake. I cant remember if there are brake posts on the fork or not.
Sorry I dont have any pics, I'm at work but will take some when I get home.

It's too new to be an ideal conversion choice if it came with vbrakes. You can do it but I would leave 26" wheels on and if you want a road type bike just buy a new frame.

There are some brakes out there that will work for 700c wheels in 26" frames, but there aren't many that aren't ridiculously expensive.
If I were you, I'd get the wheels and throw it on the bike. Ride it around brakeless for a while and find out if you like that frame. Then when you decide you hate/love the frame on 700c's, take appropriate action. Worst case scenario: You die while riding brakeless.

I don't remember where saw them, but somebody made a set of brake extender dealies for this purpose. They were pretty sweet.

Here's a thought.... 650c wheels. Basically 26" but thinner like 700c road wheels. Is this the dumbest idea I ever came up with or would that work for him, guys?
Maybe try some Paul MotoliteBMX brakes (https://www.paulcomp.com/motobmx.html ) for the wide adjustability for different sized frames and wheels?

.... and then buy brakes for that along with the lever and cabling that he already has on the current bike. But yeah a road bike is usually a better road bike than a mountain bike haha.
