Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Frame painted for my first SS

No one could help me ID this old French frame so I made up my own scheme. Black and Gold, and in keeping with that theme I will be adding gold calipers and levers w/black hoods, a gold carbon saddle, black seatpost, black cables, black crankset w/gold 42T chainring, wheelset w/black hubs, spokes, rims & gold nipples, black tires, Regina ORO chain, black stem, black drop bars w/gold tape. Will probably build it up next weekend - give the paint a little more time to harden.

Will post pics of the finished product next week.

that color combo is freessshhhhhh! I have an old univega (my only geared bike) that is almost that color. I want to repaint it a similar color, but more bronze, and get a carbon fork. Ill.

The HT decal is a Mayan symbol, a small bird, representing a baktun , a 400 year cycle on their calender. The 5000+ year Mayan calendar (and the baktun) ends on 12-21-2012, the winter solstice, and also corresponding with a 26,000 year cycle for the sun on its journey through the Milky Way (the DT decal), and the ST decal MEOD is Mayan End Of Days.

So did you take put a lot of effort into the painting or just rattlecan it? It looks really nice. I hope it doesn't start peeling in 2 weeks...
