I've had good luck with the Megamium. It's a very long-wearing tire that rides surprisingly well for an inexpensive tire that's designed to be tough. Good puncture resistance as well. $20 is close to wholesale on that tire.

I have never heard of that model. probikekit.com sells Pro Race 2s for $27 each (shipping included). I would be inclined to go for those. The price will be similar after you factor in Nashbar's shipping cost, and the Pro Race 2s are very nice tires with a very good reputation.

Aren't Pro Race 2's really nice feeling as far as low rolling resistance / handling, but have vero little durability in the way of skidding? I'd love to pick up some white tires like those for that price but if they didn't last me more than 3 months I'd be pissed...

for the rear wheel:

Vittoria Randonneur

double layered tread lasts for months // extra, directional traction for rough pavement
a but heavier but a bit sturdier...can push 'em to 100 pounds // not pricey at $23-$28
