I'm just telling myself it is a bike set up just to post here. I can't see any one actually riding that.

Gross.
Anyone know what kind of frame that is? I have the sneaking suspicion it makes up about 1/20th the cost of this build.

To be honest, I'm basically playing Devil's Advocate. I think that bike, as is, is jackass. My point is and always has been that no bike is inherently jackass, that no matter how god awful a bike may be, there is always something you can adjust or replace to make it well again. That is why I object to the "other than the x, y and z that bike is fine" line of reasoning. I agree, it would be fine, but it isn't.

Hahaha, that might explain the wheel choice. In the event of a high-speed collision or loss of traction, once the bike becomes more or less horizontal it should propel the rider into the air and out of harm's way.

man you're taking this way too far, my comment (however many pages back) was saying out of the lot, that bike i spoke to had very little wrong and didn't belong among the mass of pengy's, cori's, strapless, clipless, brakeless, ****ed-upness of the rest of the thread.

And I disagree.

May I ask, how did you decide this particular bike was not jackass? Is there a specific number of adjustments/replacements that are required before a bike is considered jackass? If so, how did you determine that number? If not, how do you determine what bikes are jackass and what bikes are a few adjustments away from being okay?

If the whole thing is just a completely arbitrary decision based on nothing but personal feeling, just say so. There's no use trying to refute an illogical statement with logic, and I'm growing a bit tired of trying to get blood from this particularly dry stone.

Jabbas just upset because his bike was the first one posted...

On another note the reversed seat post shifts the rider furtherforward making them more areo. I am making a guess because cervelo bikes have a reversable seatpost so you can get more areo...

I tend to agree with Jabba in that I think 1 jackass mistake is as bad as 2. Most of the things people did to their bikes are easily fixed. I would understand if some mistakes couldn't be fixed in an hour with simple tools, but all of these things tend to be elementary fixes.

come on. that's not the point.

the point is the owner of the bicycle is riding around like that and wants to show off their "hot to def" fixie by taking pictures in order to impress the internet.

anything can be fixed and adjusted - duh.

the point is the bikes are jackass. as is.

Another page of banter!

Well I really had high hopes of unity and perfect harmony. After even this bike couldn't do it I have lost all hope.
