Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

And is widely considered for Olympic gold this summer in Beijing (despite her poor 2004 showing).

Anyway, this is the SSFG forum. If she didn't win an alleycat or a skid contest, no one seems to care.

This guy's bike drives me nuts. I used to see him riding around Gainesville and cringed when I noticed him wearing sandals with a clipless pedal/brakeless combo. This bike is an abomination. Look at the CL ad for further repulsion.

Asking $1000?!

"Great site - inspired me to take a good deal on this Kona Paddy Wagon, my first fixed gear. All stock except for the brake lever and bar tape. A real pleasure to ride on my daily commute. Cheers - Tim (UK)."

I saw that dude riding around last year during Manifest Destiny. He must need that thousand dollars to buy crack with.

there's this thread on this site called "bikeforums". it's the "fixed gear/singlespeed" subforum, and it has this thread called "jackass bsffg poster of the day", and you should really read it sometime.

edit: i just realized you were quoting the original post but without the html quote crap. now i get it. my stuff is so much less funny now.
