Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? what is UP with this snow?

it sucks!
two days ago i was riding in shorts and a t shirt. now there's "wintery mix" (which sounds more like a christmas snack than it does a weather condition) falling and i have to deliver pizzas for six hours in this tonight!

rediculous.

Looks like mostly rain with the end switching to a winter mix here. Sucks for all of you up north. Radar looks like you are going to get spanked!

i'm in paoli and we've got about three or four here. it's still coming down mad fast!
what really sucks is that i've gotta drive in this for the whole night. last time i delivered in heavy snow i ****ed up my bumper on a snow bank. i deliver to four towns, three are good at clearing snow but one (malvern) doesn't salt / cinder / plow or anything.

i might call off work and count the minimal amount i would have made in tips as a loss... better than breaking my car or myself.

it kind of blows, the sleet pounds you in the face and stings when you're riding

so i just tried driving up to work, got stopped in traffic cause of an accident. ducked out through a neighborhood, tried cutting back to my house. i got stuck at a red light on an uphill for about ten minutes, and finally was able to get through the six inches of slush on the roads around here.

I couldn't get my mom's car up the hill to my girlfriend's parents house.

It sounds like someone is turning a rain stick over right next to my head forever. AUGH.

The worst part about this is that I already dewinterized my ssmtb..took the fenders off, changed the gearing, etc.

goggles and something over your face along with a brim on the hat under your helmet (or on your helmet) and some tights and gloves work wonders.
