Shops in Paris

Hey all, I am currently on spring break in paris and was wondering if anyone knew of some good bike shops or places here it would be great because I havnt found any yet! I know its silly to buy pretty much anything here that I can get back home in the States but I had my fingers crossed of coming across a Bagaboo dealer possibly. thanks guys!

Didn't someone on FGG galley that was from Paris say he was the ONLY fixed gear rider out on the streets?

There's a bunch of scooter shops down by the Boulogne Pont-de-St Cloud metro stop (line 10) and I think there might be a bike shop mixed in there with those. Nothing too spectactular...Honestly I don't remember any big shops. Surely they exist. I got all my stuff from the sporting good stores like Decathalon and Go Sport in the mall.

The only shop in Paris I know, besides the Singer workshop, is Special Boisis on Rue de la Grande Armee. Weird shop, run by a couple nice old ladies, dunno if it is still there.

Do not waste your time trying to find fixed gear stuff in Paris, you will cry.
Basic and poor selection, and much more expensive than in the US (1 euro = $1.3)

There are probably be 20-50 (street) fixed gear riders in Paris (France ?) and the couple I know or I have heard of get their stuff in the US.

Enjoy the city !

Yeah for a town with an endless amounts of cyclists there appear to be very few fixid riders, in fact, after being here for 3 days, I finally saw the first one today. Oh well, figured it was worth checking out but I suppose Ill have to keep my mind of biking by downing a few more bottles of wine!

yeah, it seems like a lot of fixed gear riders think they're the only one doing it.

im so glad this topic came up. ive been slowly growing obsessed with the idea of visiting france. maybe it was from a girl i dated(and then mistreated out of young stupidity). either way ive always wondered what the fixed scene/over all bicycle scene is like. maybe we should start a thread of places that arent SF/NYC/CHI/JAPAN that are actually cool places to ride fixed.

Paris is a great city, no doubt. Not much of a track/fixed gear scene though. The only Velodrome with public access (not counting the INSEP institute) is like an hours metro ride, and not very exciting either. However, you should be able to find some nice vintage jerseys and stuff at second hand spots.

i confirm
there is no particular shop in Paris for pignon-fixe
you can find stuff for street Fixed-gear if you have technical problems at :

Bicloune - 7 Rue Froment - 75011 Paris
and
Florquin Lucien - 36 Rue de l'Aqueduc - 75010 Paris

they'll understand what you are talking about with "street fixed-gear", but definitively nothing "special" to sell

fixed-gear is popular in France with professional racers for winter practice but that's all

for new jersey go to cycles Laurent - 9, boulevard Voltaire - 75011 Paris
for vintage jersey you can find some at "Bicloune", he has a lot and he is specialist in vintage french bikes.
it's ali baba cave !! but all is hidden and it's better to talk french!!

and to answer to Dano106, being a bike messenger in Paris is really not hype!! so nobody have messengers bags... people wear normal city clothes on bikes..
and Paris is a super city for bike
