That an addition like that sure does define a townie in no uncertain terms....
I went through this thread looking for handlebar options but I've ended up being totally blown away by the nature of the bikes in here and how they are tailored to suit the owners' needs.
Fine jobs each and every one.
Model airplanes are cool too!.....
I love this thread!
My wife's Grand Prix, total cruising to the bar kind of bike. It got Brooks grips after this was taken.

Great bikes! hopefully my conversion will look like them one day.
Am I the only one who's stoked beyond words for Soma's mixte?
I want to see what their new straight bars look like.
Here's my professor bike that I just put together. It was my first bike in NYC and I bought it back from a friend that I sold it to and turned it into my professor/fancy duds/picnic/grocery bike. Still need a front rack for it, not sure if I want the Paul Flatbed or the Velo-Orange porteur rack.
"Oh, I see. Running away, eh? You yellow bastard. Come back here and take what's coming to you. I'll bite your legs off."
i am stoked for anyone's mixte. don't own one myself, but i've obviously named myself after them. I want to see some bigger ones.
BTW the townie thread is what got me into BF a few months back. I'm glad to see updates. Have townie myself, will post pics ASAP.
DON'T BOGART YOUR TOWNIES!
i don't know specifically what qualifies as a townie, but the bike I built for my wife seems to fit at least a little.
It's an old Giant hybrid frame converted to single speed.
wow -- this thread is perfect inspiration for the conversion im going to put together for my girlfriend.
finally, a thread for my bike
it looks like crap but i still love it
dude i never liked an iro before, or an aerospoke, consciously, but that townie is HOT
Here's mine, just trying out the soma sparrow bars, I usually just have my risers but I figured i'd give these a try. Im still waiting on my cetma 7 rail rack and I might add a front brake.
this thread definitely makes me want to hurry the build of my townie
Took the pics just for THIS thread.
Bump because its fall and I love these bikes.
I'm not one for fawning over bicycles, but I do believe that our bikes communicate with us, and what this bike is saying is, "You're an idiot." BikeSnobNYC
