Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? That is maniacal genius, man. Lesser men buy pickup trucks for cargo like that. Good work!

what would be the right forum to discuss cargo bikes? I am contemplating buying one later this summer/early autumn and would like to hear first hand experiences from someone who has ridden one in the winter season.

Do a search on extracycle... looks very cool and there are lots of pics of people hauling everything you can imagine.

Here's the website - no I don't have one or work for them. I just want one.

Extracycles are totally rad. A friend of mine has one and she loves it.

Well, I can't really blame her there. She's never ridden a bike without hand brakes and the coaster brake need a rebuild because it doesn't stop the bike. To be honest, it barely even slows the bike. I like to ride it though. I'll get to fixing it up for her, eventually. It doesn't matter, the bike is a foundling.

Stop, just stop. You can't just go and post one shaded photo of a bike like that. Be a decent person and post some more photos, would ya?

Excellent bike.

I have a Carradice Barley, and I love it to no end. It holds everything you need for a day trip (tools, tubes, a rain slicker, a sandwich, etc.), with room to spare. It is also impressively waterproof. Calhoun Cycle has them for a good price, and they are nice folks.
