Another Piece to the puzzle.

I just picked up a pair of cheap wheels today. Perfect for my SS project. $60 for wheels and tires. Hubs are Acera, and the rear has a 7-speed cog. Rims are No-name, and the tires are Primal Raptors with a Kevlar bead.

Other items include:

A $35 Nashbar steel mtn frame, damaged in shipping (see other post in Mountain Biking Forum). It's on it's way back and now I'm waiting for frame #2!

A Manitou Axel Comp fork, purchase used for $80.

A Chris King Headset, Used $50.

A pair of Race Face Turbine LP Tandemn cranks. My buddy bought some new Ultegra Tandemn cranks and gave me his old ones. These are the stoker set, with a spider on each arm. I may get creative with the hacksaw and grinder, or may leave non-drive spider on as merely a topic of conversation.

Race Face bottom bracket.

Some junk seat, and the Kalloy seatpost included with the $35 frame.

Stem and handlebars are unknown. I let a friend borrow/have a stem and bar that I had laying around until he bought a set. I'll ask him if I'm ever getting them back. If not, I'll buy a new stem and put my Thompson stem on the SS.

Brakes? I've got some old canti's that are anodized purple and I'm thinking of those just for the "puke factor", or I've got a set of LX vee brakes that I let another "friend of a friend" use until he bought a new set.

Grips, I've got some Pedros I got free. What else? Oh yeah pedals. Who knows. I don't use my A.T.A.C.'s anymore, so I'll probably throw those on, or I've got a pair of Shimano Platform/clipless 646's I could use!

I'll post a pic when I get it all put together!

If this is going to be an off road bike mount bash rings on both spiders, for a super solid pivot point.

If you want to use the cantis but don't like the purple anodizing, a brief dose of oven cleaner should take care of the purple.

Just be sure not to overdo it.

Nah, if I go with the Canti's I just HAVE to keep them purple. They'll stand out and completely CLASH with everything else. COOL!

I just purchase a new Race Face Diabolus stem for my Intense, so the Thomson currently on it is designated to the SS.

Hey Rev, I like the idea of a double bash ring! That should be cool.

Anyone have a riser bar in good shape they no longer need? Cheap?

Just bought a bunch of crap from Price Point. They had an Easton Riser bar for $20.00. And for some stupid reason, I bought another stem. Shorter than the one I had (90mm - 5 degree). That way I can fiddle around a bit and find a comfy compromise!

I bought a new chain and some other little do dads I don't really need!
