Well at least I graduate on Friday....

Was riding home from work (in a hurry) and decided to take the sidewalk for about 2 blocks so as not to have to cut across one of the biggest pain in the a** streets in town. Lady pulling out of a brake place looked left, and not right. Long story short my wheel + her tire well = TACO'd. Granted its not my fixie (or I would have been really pissed), but still annoyed me for a bit. For the next two days I'm a pedestrian I guess.

On the bright side she's gonna pay for it, and if not then I have a form from the cop that showed to mail in and she'll have a nice ticket.

Trying not to be a dick about it.

*NOTE: This is a beater I was using until I can get my other bike built up. Sold my road bike and donated some stuff to the co-op to borrow this. figure I'll get a new wheel there and get her to donate money to it, or something like that*

Really it was at less than 1 MPH. Just a pain in the a** cause now I have to go get a new wheel and such when the old one was perfectly fine for what I was using the bike for. Oh well. Hope she drives more carefully now.

Two days as a pedestrian? Don't do it! You must find a bike to borrow. Please, don't walk, don't do it. I realize that some days when I'm busy with work the extent of my walking is from my desk to my kitchen (approximately 3' or my desk to the bathroom, which is approximately 12'). I of course always find time for a ride though.

Glad all that happened was a bashed wheel, but I command thee to always have two bikes on hand at all times!

And, congratulations on graduating! Take a moment out from the festivities to just sit and enjoy the accomplishment and reflect on all the experiences of the past four (I'm guessing...) years. One of those things (a degree) that you'll always have and which you can always say, "Yep, through the storm...and busted wheels...and walking...and late nights...I prevailed!"

^ its legal to ride on the sidewalk in FL, and when you do you are entitled to all the rights of a pedestrian, meaning she was supposed to yield. The cops backed me on this one, but I decided so long as she replaces the wheel she won't get a ticket.

They call them accidents for a reason.

You don't actually look sad in that picture. Is this all an elaboate hoax to solicit our sympathy as part of some kind of sick ego game you are playing?

PS. Clean that disgusting white thing next to you.

Are those really hula hoops hanging from your wall? If yes, why do you have so many?

I don't think I've ever even heard of a hula-hooping clown, let alone seen one.

EDIT: Nevermind. Now I have.

Glad you are ok Eric! Happy no one is making a huge deal about it. Tallahassee drivers have to be the worst though haha.

I would be crying right now if it was the Ceverlo.

And again, congrats!

1) It's my gf and roomies apt, not mine.

2) Those are their hoola hoops - No clue why they have so many, but as I like all my bikes, I'm not about to question it

3) Yeah, her roomie did that to the trash can and she is refusing to clean it. I know I didn't do it, so I ain't cleaning it.

4) No hoax. Wasn't reeeeeally sad in that pic. Thought my wheel looked sad and it was sorta funny to me (the way the wheel looked, and not the accident)
