New bike, need info on frame (pics)

So I bought this bike complete on CL for (are you sitting down?) $100.

I can't find any info online, it weighs a ton, but it's pretty fun. Def can't be beat for $100. It's drilled front and back, and has a sticker that says "4130 cro-mo."

I changed the saddle, stem, ripped off the brake, and stripped the bars. The bars are unlabeled, smaller than 26.0 (shimmed), but a good shape. Cranks are Sugino GP track cranks (144bcd, 48t ring). Front is some 105 road crap, and the rear is some cheapy suzue flip-flop.

So yeah, anyone have any info on the frame?

Pictures!

Well, I figured Yokota is Japanese, but the bike is made in Taiwan (according to the sticker on the HT).

This is the DT imprint:

(sorry for the poor quality, these pictures are all with my cell phone)

I used to sell Yokota mtn bikes way back in the day. They didn't have much of a presence in NorAm. According to teh Intarwhebs, they date back to 1991 at least. Generic [but durable] Japanese [MIT] cr-mo FTW!

Very little of that is actually rust. There's a little surface rust on the fork, and a little on the stays, but that's just the paint (which is already almost a rust-champagne color). There's no primer or anything (expected), so it looks like rust.

Yeah, custom matchless celestion m (4x10). I'm guessing they're either the g10 or the v10? The cab is 3/4 open.

did you consider the fact that in addition to being a steal, the bike may actually have been stolen?
seriously, that's a ridiculous price for a complete track bike that isn't hot

Actually, I don't think so. The guy I bought it from was clearly a cyclist (road), and said he had raced it at 7-11 a while ago. If anything I'm pretty sure he didn't steal it. Apparently, he's had the bike for years and used it as a beater/commuter.

I mean, you have to consider what the road equivalent of a bike like this would cost: hodgepodge of parts, old, heavy, rusty frame, and terrible paintjob? Probably around a hundred bucks. It's very likely that this guy wasn't aware of the equilibrium price of track bikes, which is clearly skewed by ridiculous demand, and a fixed supply.

According to the date code, August 1967, circuit AB673 Bandmaster. The guitar is (I believe) an es335, or maybe a copy. The body is solid AAA flamed maple (front back and sides!) NOT laminated like cheap copies. The neck is clearly non-original and appears to have been glued on (probably broke off, and the guy tried to fix it). The best part? Both pickups are PAFs.

Get ready to crap yourself in envy: I got the guitar for free.

I dont know if it's relevant or not, but i had a yokota MTB that i picked up new in 1989 that had the same exact decals on it. Maybe a ballpark date?

Cool none the less.

I bought my 1966 Bassman head for $150 - right around the time I traded my beat to **** Yokota mountain bike for some guitar work because I didn't want to move halfway across the country with it. I think it needs a new output transformer now

I came very close to buying a Matchless 2x12 cabinet right around the same time. It was pretty cheap in hindsight but a lot of money to me then and the sound wasn't quite what I was looking for.

Master volumes are to amps as gears are to bikes.
