New bike from SPRTYMAMA?

SS/Fixed MTB

Thoughts? Doesn't seem -too- bad, for $340?
I'm kinda diggin' the yellow.

Ahhhh, a damn chainring guard! I hate the way that eBay seller makes all their merchandise sound like it's the best thing available.

Yeah, and I guess now that I think about it you can get a complete Redline for just a little bit more.

Yeah, I'd rather spend the extra $110 and pick up a Monocog.

My desire to have a 29er SS might make me buy one of these later in the summer. How much lighter than a Monocog would this be, being that it's aluminum?

Damn, I even like the color of the copper 29er. Those are pretty dope bikes for three hundred bucks. The slope of the top tube and the giant tires (look way bigger than 2.4") makes me want to learn how to do tricks.

If it came with disc brakes, even the cheapest oem hayes, it would be the best cheap bike ever.

I know I'm getting a SS MTB soon, but I can't decide if I should go with 26" or 29".

Any suggestions that might help?

42x16 stock on the 26, 42x18 on the 29 for about 69 gear inches either way. Internets SSMTB is serious business! Better budget for a new chainring.

How tall are you and where/what kinds of trails do you ride?

I'm about 5'10", and as for the trails.. I have no idea.
As of now the only MTB's I've ridden are when I was a kid, so.. it would mostly just be for some casual fun, take it to my parents in the mountains when I visit, etc.

Uh-oh, I just noticed that it doesn't have disc tabs.

That might be a deal breaker for me.

Any fork you get will and rear disks are more for looks then anything else on a bike like this.

This seems like a pretty good deal. My main worry is that the fork looks like it's been cut off really short and good high rise stems are harder to find. If I needed a new low end ssmtb this would probably be my choice.

Good point on the steer tube, though if you want to switch it out for a boinger that problem goes away. I'm not a huge MTB guy, but I agree that disc front V back is the way to go, a really light rear end is half the reason to go SS.

no kidding. either rig should be running a 32t chainring for any real mountain biking to be possible.

yeah, they probably assume most people will run it as a commuter rig, which wouldn't be a half-bad choice

but that thing has got to weigh at least 35 pounds
