Pictures of Iro Angus/Mark V with stock black crankset
 

Does anyone have a picture of these bikes with the black crankset you can get as an option? I think I've pretty much narrowed it down to them in my search for a new bike, and I just want to see how it looks.

Thanks for the comments. This is totally blacked out from IRO. The only other option I could have gone for was to go non-machined for the front, but I run a front brake and didnt want that black. Basically told Tony I wanted it totally blacked out, except for the front wheel. He let me know various parts are NOT black, and those are mostly hardware items (nuts, bolts, etc), brake lever, various brake parts, etc, etc.

Dude, fix your brake pad. You don't get negative points if your brake system is cool and set up properly.

Get off my nuts everybody, this wasnt a fashion photo shoot. I was working, maintaining, and generally going over my bike before my 1st morning commute on this bike. The saddle is tilted down, the brake pad is off (if you notice, completely loose), the foot strap is rotated around, the bar tape is uneven, blah blah. I bet if you looked hard enough, you could even find loose nuts/bolts, my back patio needing sweeping, and the yard needing watering. :rolleyes:

That brick right next to the end of the bars isn't the same color as the rest of them. You should fix that before your points get lower.

What size fram is the Angus, Kraut?

It is a Mark V, and is "62cm" but Tony says it is mostly like a 60cm bike.

Were you able to get a black seatpost stock or did you do that yourself? I don't see an option for it on the website. Your pictures were pretty much exactly what I wanted to see... that's just what I had in mind for what I want.

Yup, everything you see is directly from Tony (IRO) except the red bar tape. The pedals/straps are from IRO too. I had a lot of questions too that werent really explained on the website... for instance I wanted non-machined rear wheel (black wheel, spokes, hub) but wanted machined front wheel (all black again except for the machined surface).

I gave Tony a call and he helped answer all my questions and even suggested different sizing than I was originally going to get (he based it upon my previous bicycles, height, etc). Give him a call.

Is the reason the mark v is slighty heavier than the angus because of the integrated headset?

the stock mark V has a threadless, non-integrated headset.

it's heavier because the frame is made out of heavier steel - basic 4130 chromoly - whereas the angus is made out of Reynolds 631, which is a snazzier, name-brand steel.

no. neither of those have an integrated headset. the mark v has a threadless headset, that generally would save you a bit of weight (not on the frame, but on the complete build due to a lighter stem). the angus has a threaded headset, but also uses better tubing which is why the frame is lighter.

an integrated headset saves you like 10 grams over a non-integrated headset.

Ohh I see, the bike above has a threadless headset, being it has bolts on the back, while the angus has a nut to attach it
